“When the Room Emptied”
A profile emerges against a deep black field — composed, elegant, almost ceremonial. The figure holds a glass of red, suspended mid-gesture, as if caught between a toast and a confession.
The face is divided, not violently, but deliberately. One half recedes into shadow, the other remains exposed — pale, controlled, outwardly serene. A single tear falls in cool blue, precise and almost decorative. It does not distort the face; it rests on it.
The eye, warm and circular, feels alert rather than broken. The lips remain composed. Nothing collapses. Nothing smears. Even sorrow appears measured.
The red tones — in the hair, in the glass, in subtle interior forms — echo through the body like a quiet repetition. Desire, memory, consequence — indistinguishable from one another.
The figure does not look shattered, only aware. Whether the tear is remorse, self-pity, or something else entirely remains unresolved.
